We’ve been having so much fantastic feedback recently from our practitioners, as well as our clients, that we thought we’d take a minute to shout about it.

We recently caught up with Dr Tracy Mountford from the Cosmetic Skin Clinic in Buckinghamshire. Dr Mountford has over twenty years experience in the industry, and is a founder member of the British Association of Cosmetic Doctors. She’s also a firm favourite with celebrities as well as with the media and the beauty press.

“We were looking for a treatment to improve texture under the eyes, which is a notoriously hard area to treat by any other means,” says Dr Mountford. “We can fill lines with dermal fillers, we can relax lines and re-contour the face however, fine textural problems and general pore quality of skin are hard to address. Genuine Dermaroller Therapy addresses these.”

Most of the patients at the Cosmetic Skin Clinic had read about Genuine Dermaroller Therapy in the media, online or had heard about celebrities who had had the treatment. “So far our clients have been delighted with the results,” she said. “The results are superb and exceeded my expectations. The Dermaroller itself is very simple to use, once the skin has been anaesthetised with anaesthetic cream. It’s a very comfortable treatment with minimal downtime.”

Here at Genuine Dermaroller Therapy, we know how well the treatment can fit into other cosmetic procedures that aesthetic clinics may offer. The results are even more impressive when used in synergy with other hydrating treatments,” continues Dr Mountford. “As Dermaroller stimulates new collagen growth, we have found that when it’s used in conjunction with Restylane Vital it hydrates the skin as well giving a double whammy on overall tone and texture. We’re able to address more problems in one treatment than a lot of other treatments do.”

“We are recommending the treatment to our clients and to other practitioners to take on board too,” she says.  “It’s simple, highly cost effective, with minimal downtime, no bruising or swelling. Certainly the results speak for themselves.”

Seeing as it’s the start of a new year, we thought it might be worthwhile taking a bit of time to shout about the terrific press coverage we’ve had over the last few months. We’re thrilled that so many journalists are on-board with Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy, and that the press coverage seems to just keep on coming.

The Daily Mail have featured us not once, but twice, in November and again in January this year, giving us two full pages of treatment reviews, with Amanda Platell saying “my skin looks so much fresher and younger, more line free and tighter without looking taught”, and Alice Hart-Davis claiming “my skin was looking much improved. A bit fresher, a bit livelier, maybe even a bit tighter. It had to be the Dermaroller.” We’re always ecstatic when we receive great feedback from our clients, and even more so when they tell millions of people about it!  Other recent press coverage includes: The Sunday Mirror, Attitude (another full page feature!), InStyle, The Daily Mirror, The Salon, Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetics Magazine and My Weekly, plus lots of regional coverage from around the UK.

And since the start of January, Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapyhas been featured in Company Magazine, The Daily Telegraph, The Irish Independent and in the February issue of Woman & Home!

To all of those journalists who have written about us – thank you. We strongly believe that this terrific coverage, coupled with the fantastic support of our medical practitioners, really has established micro-needling as a mainstream aesthetic treatment, and Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy as the market leader in this arena.  Our aim was to establish Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy as the best micro-needling treatment available, and we really feel that we’ve achieved this. In fact, we’ve now trained over 450 medical practitioners throughout the UK and this number is growing every day. Our training is second-to-none – 100% of those who attend our training sessions rate our training as good or excellent. To find out more, please look on our training pages.

In just under a year, Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ has firmly established itself as the market leader in micro-medical skin-needling procedures. The skin regeneration treatment loved by celebrities, the media, aesthetic aficionados and natural beauty fans alike, is now available throughout the UK from an impressive 417 medical practitioners. And that number is increasing daily; more than 40 practitioners are signing up to offer the procedure each month, with the training diary booked up months in advance.

Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ was launched in the UK in early 2009 by AesthetiCare®, a division of Ferndale Pharmaceuticals, to nationwide acclaim. “The concept of using micro-needling to regenerate collagen production is not a new one,” says Roger Bloxham, Managing Director. “There have been pockets of users in America, Europe and Asia over the last few years often focusing on acne scarring, which have established the efficacy and safety profile of the procedure, but it’s only now that Dermaroller™ is being widely accepted as a mainstream non-surgical cosmetic treatment. The quality of the Dermaroller™ medical devices and the techniques that have been developed by medical practitioners are now delivering fantastic results for lines and wrinkles, photo-damage and pigmentation as well as acne scarring, and these are the primary reasons for the expansion.”

Roger continues: “It should be beyond doubt that micro-medical skin-needling is a medical aesthetic procedure, and that the quality of the medical device and associated regulatory standards must be adhered to. Unfortunately, as so often happens with non-surgical procedures, the internet and ‘direct to consumer’ sales start to come into play. In addition, because of the market opportunity that has been created, products manufactured without compliance to the EU medical device regulations (sometimes with false claims) are promoted to medical practitioners. It’s the case with lasers and lights so it should not be a surprise that it's also happening within the Dermaroller™ market. However, with Genuine Dermaroller™ medical devices and Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ the quality and assurance that patients and practitioners need, and should demand, is guaranteed; it is the only genuine CE marked medical device available in this category. Crucially, it is a class IIa sterile single-use device."

"Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ is only available form trained medical aesthetic practitioners and authorised clinics. We have strived to provide a high level training and support service; the procedure is primarily device and technique driven, and as the Dermaroller™ is being used by skilled practitioners it soon becomes a straight forward procedure, but as it’s still new to so many of our clients, we believed it was important for us to focus on training and support. Information on the training service is available on the www.genuinedermaroller.co.uk website, which includes detailed participant satisfaction scores and feedback. It's gratifying that we’ve had such good feedback but it’s also a reflection of the quality of those practitioners being trained. The demand for Genuine Dermaroller™ training is incredibly high, most of the requests we now receive from practitioners are by recommendation and word of mouth – hopefully a reflection of the level of service and support we are providing."

AesthetiCare® has also focused on developing their in-clinic support materials, the www.genuinedermaroller.co.uk website and the PR programme. "The objective has been to drive demand and interest to the approved Genuine Dermaroller™ clinics so that potential clients can get the right advice and the best treatments,” says Roger. “We’ve had some fantastic press recently which is getting everyone talking. This in turn has led to an increase in website activity, and an increased level of interest in Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ has also been reported within many clinics. The number of procedures being conducted in many of the leading medical aesthetic clinics across the UK and Ireland means that Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ is now a major medical aesthetic skin rejuvenation procedure.”

If you would like to consider offering Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ at your clinic, contact AesthetiCare® on 0800 0195 322, or go to www.genuinedermaroller.co.uk for further information.

Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ continues to go from strength to strength. Over the last few months we have been working tirelessly to spread the word about the procedure, and we’re thrilled to report that the word is indeed getting out there in quite a phenomenal fashion. Over the last month or so, we’ve held a number of press appointments in Harley Street, London, with the UK’s brightest and best beauty press to promote Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ and to firmly establish the treatment as the UK’s most effective skin regeneration procedure.

Following their treatments, journalists’ feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One journalist (and new mother) had such great results with Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ on her post-pregnancy stretchmarks that she’s booked in to have two further treatments!

With fantastic coverage in Hello!, Grazia and the Times Magazine earlier in the summer we thought that our good fortune may be wavering when we had a piece appear in the Evening Standard by a journalist who had tried the treatment in September. Overall it was a positive review, but she had finished the piece by saying that she wouldn’t necessarily have the Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ again. As we’re so confident of the fantastic results with Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ this caused us some concern. She had filed the piece only a week or so after having the treatment and, although in her article she had said her skin looked good, at the time she wrote the piece she hadn’t seen just how good it would eventually look!

However, this particular journalist has since been in touch to say that she is now receiving compliment after compliment about her skin: "Four weeks on, people keep telling me that my skin is looking great", and that it must be down to Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™. Rest assured we’re keen to book her in for another treatment, so she can see how her skin will continue to improve. She’s promised to come along and to make amends so we’ll keep you posted on the results. Company Magazine also featured Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapyin a round up of the latest high tech facials in their November issue. According to the journalist: “my pores are a little smaller on the side that was treated and definitely feel less clogged”. This piece was also filed soon after the journalist had had her treatment and we’re confident that she would have seen even more of an improvement in the weeks that followed!

Other fantastic coverage recently includes:

Marie Claire (featured as ‘going up’ in their beauty barometer); the Daily Telegraph Magazine (recommended as a less extreme treatment for ageing skin); Tatler (“a natural-looking and painfree way forward in cosmetic procedures”); R Magazine (“Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapyis comfortable, safe and effective”); and the UK’s biggest selling Asian magazine, Asiana (recommended as a treatment for acne scarred and pigmented skin).

We are enormously grateful to all of those publications and journalists who have chosen to feature Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy – thank you. Thank you also to those medical practitioners who have been speaking to the press themselves about the treatment, especially to Dr Michael Prager who has been singing our praises to the media and is responsible for the fantastic coverage in Hello!, Marie Claire, Grazia and Tatler. It’s so wonderful to know that we all want to spread the good news.

All of this brilliant media coverage not only seems to encourage new clients to try Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ for themselves but is also having a substantial effect on the number of medical practitioners who want to offer the treatment at their clinics. We have now trained 366 aesthetic practitioners throughout the UK and, as you can see on our Training for Medical Practitioners page, this number is increasing all the time and the feedback that is being reported on the results is fantastic.

If you have had a Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™ treatment recently, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to contact me on cathy@azariapr.co.uk

In the meantime, thank you again for reading our blog, and for your interest in Genuine Dermaroller™ Therapy™.
