Genuine Dermaroller Therapy from AesthetiCare® was exhibited and featured at the medical aesthetic conference FACE 2010 held at the Royal College of Physicians in Regents Park, London, at the weekend. The whole event was fantastic, and we got to catch up with lots of our practitioners which is always nice! One particular highlight for us this year was listening to one of Bollywood’s leading Cosmetic Dermatologists - Dr Jaishree Sharad - talking on micro-medical skin-needing for Asian Skins and giving a live Genuine Dermarollerdemonstration. We caught up with Dr Sharad – Vice President of the Cosmetic Dermatology Society of India and Medical Director at Skinfiniti Clinic in Mumbai – after the event to talk about Genuine Dermaroller. We are delighted to hear how much she loves it!

Dr Sharad said: “Genuine Dermaroller is a simple yet very effective anti ageing treatment that is excellent for acne scarring too, and for me, working in Mumbai, it’s a must because it is particularly safe in Asian skin where post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is such a common issue. The beauty is that it has a fantastic safety profile; the epidermis isn't damaged so we do not see infection, there’s virtually no downtime, no thermal heat and therefore minimal risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation unlike with lasers, no hospitalisation unlike with surgical treatments and no anaesthesia other than a local anesthetic cream. It’s cost effective too, and you see significant improvement in box and rolling acne scars in 3-6 treatments as well as marked improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, along with skin tightening.”

Dr Sharad is a pioneer in using the Dermaroller in India. She uses the treatment a lot at her Skinfiniti clinic in Mumbai (www.skinfiniti.net), where she treats some of Bollywood’s big stars. It’s Dr Sharad’s admiration for Genuine Dermaroller that inspired her to champion it at the conference. She said: “FACE 2010 was awesome, it was both informative and to the point. I chose to give my presentation on micro-medical skin-needing for Asian Skins because I wanted to bring it to the practitioners’ notice that although it may not appear high tech like a laser, it is very novel, and in some ways better than a laser, especially in dark skin.”

Her success stories highlight how well Genuine Dermaroller is going down amongst her Indian clients. She said: “I have had some young women who weren't getting married due to their acne scars. Post-Dermaroller, their skin has become much smoother, their scars have almost gone and they have finally found their life enhanced when finding the right partner for themselves. I’ve also had young men who were psychologically devastated and had lost confidence due to scars on their face. Now they are new, confident, smart people with good jobs after having had the Dermaroller treatment. It’s also nice when you have older women who can’t afford an ongoing combination of ‘Botox’ and fillers, but have managed to take years off their face with the Dermaroller treatment.”

At FACE 2010, Dr Sharad’s talk on micro-medical skin-needing for Asian Skins went down a storm, getting an impressive round of applause and excellent feedback from the audience, along with plenty of enquiries. Dr Sharad said: “Everyone was attentive and seemed interested in the treatment. I think Genuine Dermaroller is a breakthrough skin rejuvenation and acne scar treatment.” Dr Sharad’s international speaker schedule this year is a busy one, she will be talking at the largest European Dermatology Congress the EADV in Sweden in October, and at the European Society for Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology in Dresden in December.

Should you be interested in telling us about your experience of Genuine Dermaroller, either as a practitioner or a patient, we’d love to hear how it went, and what you thought! Please feel free to contact Azaria PR on alicia@azariapr.co.uk.
